The United States Air Force (USAF) Thunderbirds military jet demonstration team announced today that the SUN ‘n FUN International Fly-In & Expo has been selected as a general aviation event venue on the 2012 Thunderbirds appearance schedule.
SUN ’n FUN CAMPUS, LAKELAND, FL. –Officials from the Florida Air Museum (FAM) at SUN ’n FUN celebrated the early stages of construction on a 4,000 sq. ft. addition to the Tom Davis Educational Center that will provide additional space and facilities for FAM’s increasingly popular programs and activities. The new addition will be called the Piedmont Hangar Aerospace & Technology Lab and takes its name from the airline (Piedmont) founded by Tom Davis, whose family donated significant funds for the original Tom Davis Education Center as well as this new addition.
