SUN ‘n FUN and the Lakeland Aero-Club come to the rescue as they team together to save 62 FlightSafety airplanes from Hurricane Matthew.

28 Central Florida Aerospace Academy students, and Lakeland Aero-Club members, worked ten hours between Tuesday and Wednesday this week moving 62 airplanes into SUN ‘n FUN hangars to save them from Hurricane Matthew. The high school students took time out of their days to help the FlightSafety planes taxi into SUN ‘n FUN facilities, and pushed the planes into the hangars.

FlightSafety is a company located in Vero Beach, FL. Florida is currently expecting to have winds as strong as 145 mph and a storm surge as high as 9 ft. FlightSafety Academy partners with SUN ‘n FUN and the Aerospace Center for Excellence during their summer camps to provide flights to more than 100 students free of charge.
